Basudeb Pal Majumdar (b. 1970) completed his B.V.A. in Painting from the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata in 1992. Basudeb’s paintings have a delicate, airy quality, evoking a thoughtful environment. They comprise of human and animal figures that inhabit a serene world which they are subtly weaved into; fading and appearing like a dream. The fact that the birds are painted more vividly than other subjects is a testament to his other passion, wildlife photography. Majumdar’s works have been exhibited in various Indian cities and garnered widespread acclaim.
