Devashish Das (b. 1970) received his B.V.A. from the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Kolkata (1996). Born in North Bihar, the artist has spent a large part of his life among tribals. Having imbibed their ways, he tries to capture their lifestyle in his art. Simple details like caste-markers, necklaces, peacock feathers, animals and vivid colours like red, yellow and green are trademarks of his paintings. His works have been shown in exhibitions in Kolkata, New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.
