Pandi Selvam
Pandi Selvam (b. 1985) received his B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Painting from the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai. His works present the window, an everyday sight, through a new perspective. By taking the window, something that people look through and making it something to look at instead, he is urging the viewers to look at the world around them with a closer eye and a renewed interest. Selvam has received the M.F.A Best Student Award, Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai (2015); Kalai Panpadu Thurai Fellowship for B.F.A. (2012); Mrs. Barbara Sreenivasan Memorial Award for Fine Art, Kasturi Sreenivasan Trust, Coimbatore (2012); among many other recognitions.
