Sudipta Kundu received his Diploma in Applied Art & Design from the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata (1999). He likes to experiment with different media, and works with a range of subjects including conceptual art, landscapes, cityscapes and religious themes. In some of his works, he explores the theme of “blending lives of different people with naturescapes or cityscapes”; thus we see a conceptual fusion of figurative representations molded in with abstract themes. Kundu has been awarded the Golden Eye Award by Antardhrishti, Agra (2013); and the Award for Excellence in the Shimul International Painting Challenge, Kolkata (2009). He has been a part of shows in Kolkata, Siliguri, Bangalore, New Delhi, Singapore, Malaysia, Jakarta and others. The artist lives and works in Kolkata.
