Vijayashree Umanand
Vijayashree Umanand (b. 1972) is a Bangalore-based artist who has received her Diploma in Textile Design, and a Masters Degree in Art History. Her abstract artworks present a world of vivid colours, swirls and patterns that exude a joyous energy. Based on her experience in textile, we can see that graphic elements inform her artworks as well. Umanand has previously taught at the Department of Textile Design, South Delhi Polytechnic for Women, and participated in “Chitra Parise” organised by the Lalit Kala Akademi .
