Dushyant Patel (b. 1987) completed his Diploma in Painting from Sheth C.N. College of Fine Art, Ahmedabad, and his Post Diploma in Printmaking from the Fine Arts Faculty, M.S. University, Baroda (2009). His softly rendered paintings take on popular themes of the day and are presented with a touch of humour. Such a combination makes his paintings more than just works of art; they are also a form of visual social commentary. He has been a part of several exhibitions in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Baroda, and has been awarded the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Akademi in 2002 and 2009 for the Student Category and Artist Category respectively. Dushyant currently works as a Graphic Art Technical Expert in the Department of Graphic Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University.
